The national newsmakers continue to pick up on this info. While some want to blame appraisers for racism (which is possible), some realize that some area market values have been effected by 150+ years of racist practice. Appraiser's must select comparables from similarly marketable areas - to do otherwise is an act of mortgage fraud. The appraiser's job is to observe, research and report data - it is the government's job to fix their decades of racist policy's effect on minority communities.
